We entered our S1000RR in the Pagoda Show at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was truly an honor to put our motorcycle on display in front of the Pagoda, with all the racing history surrounding us, including parking directly on the bricks that come out from the finish line on the race track! We had the bike set up for the show on both Saturday and Sunday and got to talk to lots of people who stopped by to see the bike. It’s always fun to meet other enthusiast and I really appreciate all the encouragement I get from the folks who are excited to hear about my racing!
The winners were announced on Sunday and our bike won first in it’s class! During the awards presentation I got to meet Why We Ride Producer James Walker, Sport Rider‘s Kent Kunitsugu, Cycle World‘s Matthew Miles, and Motorcyclist‘s Marc Cook and Brian Hatano. The Pagoda Show was a really great experience and I’m glad these folks and their teams put together such a great event; we are grateful to have been a part of it!
Over the weekend we also got to hang out with our BMW friend Teach McNeil and catch up with him since we last saw him in Kansas City. He was kind enough to give us VIP access to the stunt show that he, Kyle Sliger, and Aaron Twite were featured in called the XDL Street Jam . The show was great; those guys can make some crazy things look effortless!
Our friend Mike Jones was also at MotoGP this weekend and spoiled us with snacks and also gave us Paddock passes, which allowed us access to Gasoline Alley and the pit area. Lots of people gather up in this area in hopes of getting autographs when the riders leave their garage. On Sunday afternoon we watched the MotoGP race from the grandstands above Gasoline Alley, right in front of the starting line! The best part was seeing and hearing all the bikes take off at the start of the race, and Chris was excited to see Marquez cross the finish line for his tenth win in a row. Overall it was another awesome weekend in Indy with an amazing amount of blessings and good times with friends; old and new!
