We went to Street Car Takeover at Heartland Park in Topeka a few weeks ago! Heartland Park was our home track when Elyse first started drag racing, and this was our first time back since we moved to Houston a year ago. We were excited to have the opportunity to go back to race at HPT and see some of our friends from the area. There was a good turnout for the event and it was the best bike turnout for any of the SCT events we’ve been to. We entered the 2016 S1000RR, Blackbriar, into both the bracket and heads-up bike classes. This was the first time the bike had gone down the drag strip since it was put into the ‘Blackbriar’ setup. The bike performed well and Elyse won 2nd place in the bracket class and 3rd place in the heads-up class.
