The 2019 PMRA season kicked off this past weekend with a double header event. We traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma to participate in both the Saturday and Sunday race events. I entered the Ultra Street class both days with Blackbriar. Ultra Street is a heads-up class run in the 1/8th mile again this year. There were a few rule changes that allow for additional bike modifications, although the only one that applies to Blackbriar is allowance for a smaller headlight. The spirit of the Ultra Street rules is to keep the bikes close to street legal.
The weather was perfect all weekend and the rain held off even though 60% chance of rain had been forecasted for race day. Overall the weekend went great. I won first place on Saturday and on Sunday I got second place and achieved a new personal best of 135 mph in the 1/8th mile! We are looking forward to more wins and record setting to come in 2019!
